Pre-PhD Admission Notice

Dated the 16th December, 2020

No.MU/3-121/85/Aca(Pt-III)/62: Applications in prescribed formats are invited from the eligible candidates for provisional registration to the Pre-Ph.D. programme for the sesion 2020-2021 for the following departments:

Eligibility for Sl. No. 1-17:

Candidates who have passed the PG examination in the concerned/allied subject with 55% marks or above /B Grade in the seven point scale or above (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer), Differently abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991) and those who have apperared the qualifying examination and waiting for results are eligible to apply for provisional admission into Pre-Ph.D. Programme. The number of vancancies will be determined at the time of provisional admission into Pre-Ph.D. Programme.

Eligibility for Sl. No. 18:

Candidates who have passed (a) M.Tech./M.E. in relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA in 10 point scale or 60 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized Institute/University or (b) B.Tech./B.E. in relevant discipline with at least 8.5 CGPA or 80 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized technical institute or university with a valid GATE score.

The Minimum CGPA/marks shall be relaxed by 0.5 CGPA or 5 percent in case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD categories.

Eligibility for Sl. No. 19:

Candidates shall have Degree in MD/MS/PG-Diploma/DM/M.Ch in the subject concerned or diploma of National Board of Examination (DNB) or equivalent recognized by Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC – 7 pont scale or an equivalent degree from any educational institutions approved by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency.

Non-medical candidates shall have a Master’s degree (two or three- years course) awareded by Indian Universities or its equivalent in the following subjects (other than M.Sc. Nursing) with at least 55% in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC – 7 point scale:

Master of Sciences (M.Sc.)/Master in Veterinary Science (MV Sc)/M.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology)/M.Sc. (Speech & Hearing)/M.Sc. (Pharmacy)/M.Sc.(Physiotherapy)/M. Optometry/M.Sc. in subject allied to Medical Sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Biophysics, Human Biology, Molcular biology, Medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Bio-medical Sciences, Molecular and Human Genetics/Genomics/Master in Management(Hospital Administration).

The number of vacancies will be determined at the time of provisional registration. Only those candidates who successfully complete the Pre-Ph.D. course work with a minimum of B Grade in the 7-point scale will be eligible for registration to the Ph.d. programme.

Application forms and Ph.D. Regulations will also be available on Manipur University Website (www.manipuruniv.ac.in). An application fee of Rs. 500/- for General and Rs. 300/- for SC/ST/PWD has to be paid online at (www.manipuruniv.ac.in/receipt). The filled in application forms snclosed with payment receipt may be submitted to the concerned departments.

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS shall be made as per the norms of the Government of India.
