Manipur University, 18/1/2024: Manipur University and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhisigned a Memorandum of Understanding on 18 January 2024 at New Delhi. As per the MoU, Manipur University and RIS will jointly conduct research on mutually agreed areas, publish and share information. The MoU highlights that the Centre for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University will also jointly work with RIS, New Delhi in the field of research and publication on India-Myanmar Relations. The Memorandum of Understanding is jointly signed by Professor w Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, Manipur University on behalf of Manipur University and Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General, RiS, New Delhi on behalf of Research and Information Service for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi in presence of Professor MCArunkumar, Director, Centre for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University. The Manipur University signs this MoU under the abled guidance and constant advice of Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Naorem Lokendra Singh, Manipur University. The Memorandum was initiated by Honorable MoS, Dr RK Ranjan, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi is a autonomous policy research institute that specializes in issues related to international economic development, trade, investment and technology. The Institute has a wide network of research partners all over the globe.

Manipur Univeristy, 25/04/2023: Today, the 25th April 2023(Tuesday), a memorandum of understanding between Manipur University, Imphal and Okinawa Churashima Foundation, Japan for cooperation in Life Sciences research and Education was signed at the Committee Room, Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariate, Manipur University.

On behalf of Manipur University, it was signed by Prof, W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, MU, in presence of Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon’bl Vice-Chancellor, MU. Witnesses were Prof. R. On behalf of Okinawa Churashima Foundation, Japan, it was signed by Dr. Yoshihito Hanashiro, chairman of the foundation and witnessed by Mr. Yutaka Agatsuma, chairman, Asia Supporting Organisation Alternative Plant for Opium Poppy, Japan and Mr. Teruaki Watanabe, Director, TMH Green Pvt. Ltd. Kapashera, Delhi. Dr. Atsushi ABE, Chief, Botanical Laboratory, OCRC also attended the signing ceneremony.

The MoU emphasised on the exchange of manpower, protocols, literatures, study meterial and collaborative research.

Manipur University, 25/07/2022: Manipur University signed an MoU on Monday the 25th July 2022 in the presence of Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Manipur University, with H&A India Pvt. Ltd. The objective of MOU are as follows: i) to provide a framework for collaboration of research and extension activities, ii) The research may include the protection, sustainability and climate-resilient of fish and other aquatic resources of the NE Region. iii) The research may aim the local communities of Manipur to align with the goals and programmes of the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change(MoEFCC), Govt of India. iv) To improve research capacities and knowledge management of the University for conducting inventories and surveys, analysing data, and establishing an M&E system on the impact of measures for sustainable, climate-resilient management of fish and invertebrates stocks. v) This MoU shall involve the establishment of an institutional mechanism including communication structures between the parties and the development of scientifically grounded action plans based on the analyses with concrete recommendations.

Manipur University signed a memorandum of understanding with Bangor University, UK for collaboration in research & exchange programs

A memorandum of understanding aimed to establish and develop a strategic collaborative relationship in order to promote academic and cultural exchange between Manipur University and Bangor University, Wales, the United Kingdom was signed recently. The MOU incorporates facilities for information exchange, exchange of Students and Staff, e-learning and distance learning technologies in addition to collaborative research.

Bangor University, formerly called the University College of North Wales is a public university established in the year 1884. The campus stretched in Bangor and  Wrexham. The university was made up of three Colleges housing fourteen academic Schools, as well as over fifty specialist research centres, enabling the provision of courses spanning the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. In the academic year of 2021-2022, the university had a total student enrolment of more than 11000 including 6623 full-time undergraduates and 380 part-time undergraduates. In addition to that, there were 1045 full-time postgraduates and 719 part-time postgraduates. Some of its alumni included film director Danny Boyle, actress Frances Barber, renowned chemist Colin Eaborn, musician Bill Fay, writer Tony Gillam, producer Tim Haines, actor John Ogwen, poet R.S. Thomas and physician Herbert Wilson, who was known for his contribution to the DNA structure research.

            
In the first listing of exchange programs, collaborative research is planned on the Poisonous Snakes of Manipur & their Venom.
