COLLABORATION

Manipur University, 19/04/2022: Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) students of MIMS are now at NARBARD Guwahati. They visit NARBARD Guwahati on 19/04/2022 for an interaction session. And they are at IIBM Guwahati for the 5(five) days education exchange program. The program kick-off on 18th April 2022 and will conclude on 22nd April 2022.

Manipur University, 20/12/2021:  The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak and Manipur University, Canchipur on 20/12/2021 in online mode. The purpose of MoU is to promote academic exchange between the two Parties through mutual assistance in the area of teaching and research. The general framework for academic cooperation of the MOU is to promote the following activities: 1. Two Annual Joint National Seminars on mutually agreed themes (one sponsored by MU and Another by IGNTU), 2. Faculty Exchange between the two Parties for a minimum of two (02) weeks and a maximum of six (06) months; and 3. Exchange of Research Scholars and students.

Manipur University NSS Unit I and II in collaboration with their Adopted Villages kick off Seven Days special Camp

Manipur University, 12/11/2021: Today (12th November 2021), Manipur University NSS Unit I and II in collaboration with their Adopted Villages kick off Seven Days Special Camp (12th to 18th November 2021) with a theme: Youth for Containing COVID 19 pandemic at MU Centenary Open Air Theatre in a simple function with Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar of the University as Chief Guest. Shri Nepram Kishan Singh (Advisor, The Kyamgei Youth Pioneer Club, Kyamgei) and Shri Okram Sunil Meitei (President, The Social Educational Voluntary Athletic/SEVA Club, Thongju Part II) were also present and Guest of Honour and President of the function. During the function, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of NSS towards the academic sanctity of the University specially its outreached activities will attract more positive perceptions from the community which ultimately augment the overall ranking of the University. Guest of Honor shares his personal experiences which he said might be helpful in achieving the goal of the anti-drug campaign by the youths of Manipur. As a part of the camp, volunteers will have various activities such as on-spot academic competitions, lecture programs by resource persons, social services, awareness programs that are based on community needs and on COVID 19, blood donation, hands-on demonstration on basic first aid, Yoga, Tree plantation, etc.

Manipur University, 15/11/2021: Today, Manipur University NSS Unit I and II organizes one-day Voluntary Blood Donation as a part of Seven Days Special Camp (12th to 18th November 2021) at JNIMS. Yesterday, Shri Narendra Ningombam, Chairman Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal East District Branch motivated the volunteers for blood donation and today altogether 18 number of NSS Volunteers got registered for the same. Indeed, it was an unexpected turn out of volunteers and the program was a grand success.

Manipur University signed a memorandum of understanding with Bangor University, UK for collaboration in research & exchange programs

A memorandum of understanding aimed to establish and develop a strategic collaborative relationship in order to promote academic and Cultural exchange between Manipur University and Bangor University, Wales, United Kingdom was signed recently. The MOU incorporates facilities for information exchange, exchange of Students and Staffs, e learning and distance learning technologies in addition to collaborative research.

Bangor University, formerly called the University College of North Wales is a public university established in the year 1884. The  campus  stretched  in Bangor and  Wrexham. The university was made up of three Colleges housing fourteen academic Schools, as well as over fifty specialist research centers, enabling the provision of courses spanning the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. In the academic year of 2021-2022, the university had a total student enrolment of more than 11000 that includes  6623 full-time undergraduates and 380 part-time undergraduates. In addition to that, there were 1045 full-time postgraduates and 719 part-time postgraduates. Some of it's alumni included film director Danny Boyle, actress Frances Barber, renowned chemist Colin Eaborn, musician Bill Fay, writer Tony Gillam, producer Tim Haines, actor John Ogwen ,poet R.S. Thomas and physician Herbert Wilson, who was known for his contribution to the DNA structure research.

            
In the first listing of exchange programs a collaborative research is planned on the Poisonous Snakes of Manipur & their Venom.
