Celebrations of National and International Commemorative days

Institution celebrates/organizes national and international commemorative days, events and festivals

 

Date 10/12/2021: The Observance of International Human Rights Day under the theme "Equality-Reducing Inequality, advancing Human Rights" was held on today (10th December 2021) at the Lecture Hall of the Department of Law, Manipur University. The function was jointly organised by the Department of Law and the Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education. Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, MU, Prof.W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar, MU, Prof. Th. Purnima Devi, Director, Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education, MU. Dr N.Pramod Singh, Associate Professor, D.M. University, Ng. Nongyai, Former Member, Manipur State Human Rights Commission, Dr.Y. Premananda Singh, Head, Department of Law, MU have graced the function as the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and President respectively.

Observance of Human Rights Day was conducted today (10/12/2021) by MU NSS Units at MU centenary Hall. During the program, Rohit Khumanthem talk about social stigmatizations faced by Transgenders which was followed by Dr O. Jitendra Singh who spoke about the importance of Observing for the day.

Department of Law, Manipur University & Press Information Bureau and Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India jointly organize a Webinar on Constitution Day(Samvidhan Divas) at 12:30 pm on 26 November 2020. Shri Jarnail Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University and Dr Yumnam Premananda Singh, Head of Department(Law), Manipur University, graced the function as Chief Guest & Resource Person. All the faculty members and students of Manipur University, regional and branch offices/bureaus of ROB and PIB in the eight states of North-East and media persons including Regional News Units of AIR and DD had participated in the webinar.
