Winter Internship Programme started in Department of Forestry & Environmental Science, Manipur University

Manipur University, 21/11/2023: A winter internship programme on conservation and genetic improvement of forest trees of Indo-Myanmar Biodiversity Hotspot was inaugurated by Prof. S. Jibon Singh, the Dean of School of Human & Environmental Science, Manipur University on Tuesday (21st November 2023). The programme is being organized by the Department of Forestry & Environmental Science through the grant awarded by DST- Science & Engineering Research Board, New Delhi, under its scheme Accelerate Vigyan (Vritika). The internship programme has been joined by eleven M. Sc. students and Ph. D. scholars from different organizations/ University of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, UttarPradesh, Bihar and Tamilnadu with sponsorship for free training to all, and allowance for traveling, and accommodation to five selected interns. The interns will be engaged in the activities related to preservation, conservation, and multiplication of forest genetic resources endemic to the North-East region.
