One Day Free Medical Camp @ Maram Khunou Village

Manipur University, 3/12/2022: A one day Free Medical Camp was organized at Maram Khunou Village, Senapati District jointly by the Department of Vocational Studies & Skill Development, Manipur University and Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt. Ltd., Langol, Imphal, on 3rd December, 2022 with the support of District Administration, Senapati. This Village is adopted by Manipur University (DVSSD) with an objective to make a model village with proper academic interventions.

In the inaugural session Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, HOD, DVSSD, MU, Shri T. Shyamkumar Singh, SDO/BDO, Tadubi and Mr. Th. Denish, Business Development Manager, Shija Hospitals were present and discussed the various health and other issues of the village specially on capacity building, livelihood and overall economic prosperity of the village. Faculty members of Department of Vocational Studies & Skill Development, Mr. Micky Pao, Project Officer, DRDA and Ms. Kaini B. Block Co-ordinator, Tadubi were also present.

A team of Specialist Doctors from department of General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Eye and ENT rendered free consultations of various health issues of more than 200 villagers from neighbouring villages including women, children and older persons. Free medicines were also distributed during the camp. The Village Chairman and Authorities expressed their thankfulness to the team from Manipur University, Shija Hospitals and District Administration for organizing such free health camp, the first of its kind in the village.
