North East NSS Festival 2025 (2nd – 6th June, 2025)
DAY 1: 1 June 2025: 
The North East NSS Festival, 2025 began with great enthusiasm and excitement as NSS contingents from different North Eastern states started arriving at the host venue, Manipur University. The festival aims to bring together youth volunteers from across the region to foster peace, unity, and development through community service. The first contingent arrived from Arunachal Pradesh. The team reached the venue at 6:30 PM on 31st May 2025. It comprised 34 members, including 33 NSS volunteers and one Programme Officer. Shortly after, the team from Sikkim arrived at 12:10 AM on 1st June 2025. This contingent included 32 NSS volunteers and two Programme Officers, totaling 34 members. Later in the day, Manipur Team A arrived at 4:00 PM with a strength of 62 members, consisting of 54 volunteers and eight Programme Officers. This was followed by the arrival of the Manipur Team B at 5:30 PM, comprising 20 volunteers and two Programme Officers, totaling 22 members.
Accommodation arrangements for NSS girl volunteers were provided in the Girls’ Hostels, while the NSS boy volunteers were housed in Boys’ Hostel No. 1. Lunch was served in their respective hostels at 1:00 PM, and dinner was arranged at the Manipur University Guest House from 8:00 to 09:30 PM.

A coordination meeting of the Organizing Committee, NSS Officials, and Programme Officers from different states was held in the VIP Lounge of the Manipur University Guest House. The meeting was chaired by Dr. L. Santosh Singh, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, MU. The session began with self-introductions from all Programme Officers present. Lok Bahadur Thapa, NSS Programme Coordinator, Arunachal Pradesh, facilitated NC Deori, Youth Officer, Regional Office (NER), Guwahati. Dr. K. Sanaton Sharma, Programme Coordinator of DM University, also attended the meeting and shared his thoughts on the significance of the National Service Scheme and the North East NSS Festival 2025. He spoke about how such events play a vital role in building socially responsible and aware youth.

Dr. Deepamanjuri, Programme Officer, NSS Unit II, warmly welcomed all the invited NSS officials, and Programme Officers from Manipur and outside. Dr. Kh. Herachandra Singh, Programme Officer of NSS Unit I, expressed his sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused in the hospitality services, since some of the teams had arrived prior to the commencement of the planned programme schedule. Dr. Dalip Singh, Programme Officer of NSS Unit IV, Manipur University, presented a detailed report on the arrival of the participants and the corresponding accommodation arrangements. Following this, Dr. H. Suraj Singh, Programme Officer of NSS Unit III, Manipur University, read out and explained the brief schedule of the festival’s events. He welcomed all the delegates and Programme Officers once again and expressed his wishes for the grand success of the festival.
Shri. N.C. Deori, Youth Officer, Regional Office (NER), Guwahati, emphasized the objective of organizing such festivals under the sponsorship of the Ministry. He highlighted the importance of these programme in promoting awareness, discipline, and social commitment among the youth. He also stressed the need for strong coordination among Programme Officers to ensure that NSS volunteers uphold discipline and represent the spirit of service.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. L. Santosh Singh, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the North East NSS Festival 2025. He expressed gratitude to all present and reaffirmed the collective commitment to making the festival a successful and memorable event.

2nd June 2025
The North East NSS Festival 2025 commenced today at Manipur University, hosted by the NSS Cell, Manipur University under the aegis of Regional Directorate of NSS Guwahati, Assam  & Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. The inaugural function was marked by a grand cultural procession, featuring NSS volunteers and Programme Officers from various North Eastern states, including Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Manipur. Dressed in their respective traditional attire, each state contingent proudly showcased their unique cultural identity, celebrating the rich diversity of the region.
