Organised by: Department of Physics, Manipur University
Dates: 12–14 November 2025
Venue: Department of Physics, Manipur University
The Department of Physics, Manipur University successfully organised the International Conference on Advanced Materials for Sustainability and Innovation: Energy, Environment and Health (ICAMSI 2025) from 12th to 14th November 2025. The conference aimed to bring together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and young scholars to discuss recent developments in materials science with emphasis on sustainability, energy, environment, and health.
The three-day conference featured plenary talks, invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions, covering major themes such as:
Advanced functional materials; Energy storage and conversion; Environmental remediation; Nanomaterials and nanocomposites; Spectroscopy, SERS, and plasmonics; Green hydrogen technologies; Semiconductor physics; Biomaterials for health applications
Eminent speakers from both India and abroad delivered talks in physical and online modes, adding diversity and depth to the scientific exchanges.
A total of 224 participants registered for the conference, including faculty members, research scholars, and students from 58 institutions across India and abroad. The conference received 154 abstracts, compiled into an abstract volume distributed to participants. The academic sessions were enriched by interactive discussions that promoted collaborations and future joint research initiatives.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Sumitra Phanjoubam, Dean, School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, as the Chief Guest. Prof. Umesh V Waghmare, President, JNCASR, Bangalore, and Prof. H. Basantakumar Sharma, Department of Physics, served as Guests of Honour. The session was presided over by Prof. Angom Dilip Kumar Singh, Head, Department of Physics.
The conference concluded with a valedictory session on 14th November 2025, during which best poster and best oral presentation awards were distributed. The organising committee—including faculty members, research scholars, and student volunteers—ensured the smooth conduct of all academic and logistics arrangements.
ICAMSI 2025 successfully achieved its objective of fostering academic exchange and providing a platform for researchers to share innovative ideas for sustainable technological advancement.
