Manipur University 15th September 2025: The Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipur University, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC-MIT), successfully celebrated the 58th National Engineers’ Day on 15th September 2025 at the MIT Campus under the national theme “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade.”
The programme began with the gathering of invitees, faculty members, staff, and students, followed by a candle lighting and floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, whose birth anniversary is observed as Engineers’ Day across the country.
Dr. Rajeev Rajkumar, Convener of IIC-MIT, delivered the theme talk, highlighting the significance of deep tech innovations and engineering excellence in accelerating India’s technological growth. An AI-based audiovisual presentation on the life and achievements of Sir M. Visvesvaraya further inspired participants with his extraordinary contributions and vision.
Prof. Th. Suresh Singh, President of IIC-MIT, stressed the need for integrating research, entrepreneurship, and innovation into engineering education, while Prof. N. Basanta Singh, Principal of MIT, emphasized the critical role of engineers in nation-building and encouraged students to embrace creativity and innovation in their professional journey.
As part of the celebration, a Tech Quiz competition was organized, where students enthusiastically participated and demonstrated their knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks and refreshments, making the day a memorable occasion to honor engineering excellence. The event witnessed vibrant participation from students, faculty, and staff, reaffirming MIT’s commitment to fostering innovation, research, and technological advancement for the nation’s progress.
