Manipur University, 12th May 2025: Manipur University (MU) eOffice went live today on 12th May 2025 by putting up a file through eOffice portal of the university from the Office of the Registrar to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, marking a significant milestone in digital administration, enhancing efficiency and accountability in its governance. The implementation of eOffice at the University was a momentous step towards bringing significant transformation in administration and providing digital workplace solutions.
The eOffice Implementation programme was attended by Vice-Chancellor of MU Prof. N. Lokendra Singh and Registrar (in-charge) MU Prof. Th. Binoy Singh along with the members of eOffice Implementation Committee, Manipur, MU including Dr. Khumukcham Robindro Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science, MU as Chairman, Mr. Wangjam Devendro Singh, System Manager, MU as convenor, Dr. Th. Ibungomacha Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science, Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), MU as co-chairman, Dr. Th. Tangkeshwar Singh, Dr Rajeev Rajkumar, Information Scientist of MU Ahongsangbam Dorendro and Programmer of MU Irengbam Tilokchan Singh as members of the Committee.
Acknowledging the successful implementation of eOffice, the Vice Chancellor said that its implementation at the university is a crucial part of the government’s 100-day agenda aimed at boosting digital governance. He underscored the significance changes the eOffice would bring in making the administration process efficient and accountable.
Sharing his views on eOffice implementation, Prof. Th. Binoy Singh stated that eOffice will be cost-saving, speeding up the file movement, and improving transparency in governance.
Dr. Khumukcham Robindro Singh expressed that eOffice will streamline work culture, safeguarding date security, enhance paperless and eco-friendly administration, minimizing the environmental toll. Highlighting the safety of eOffice, Wangjam Devendro Singh stated that eOffice will provide secure access to senior officials of the university through user authentication process.
It is worth mentioning that eOffice user training and awareness programmes for Deans, Heads of Departments, administrative officers, and other non-teaching staff had been conducted to create awareness and provide hands-on experience of eOffice among non-teaching employees for efficient digital administration.
