Yoga is all about stretching our body in different forms and meditation. As Surya Namaskar – Sun Salutation is an ancient yogic tradition of worshiping the rising or setting of the sun (surya). It is thought that if the day and night were like breathing dawn and dusk would be the pause between the inhalation and exhalation (kumbaka) and the perfect time for reflection, meditation, or yoga practice. "Prana" is Breath or vital energy in the body. On subtle levels prana represents the pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and "ayama" means control. So, Pranayama is "Control of Breath". One can control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama and achieve healthy body and mind. Practice of Pranayama achieves the balance in the activities of these pranas, which results in healthy body and mind. Pranayama or yogic breathing is one of the best techniques of yoga.
