The Department of Library and Information Science, Manipur University and the Manipur Library Association, Imphal will observe National Library Day on the 12th August, 2021, the 129th birth anniversary of Prof. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Movement in India. A national lecture on "Dr. S.R.Ranganathan and his contributions" will also be organised on the day as a part of the event. Prof. C. R. Karisiddappa, formerly UGC Emeritus Fellow, Karnataka University will deliver The lecture.The result of the National Online Essay Competition on Reading Habit during Covid-19 Pandemic organised by the Department as a part of the Observance of National Reading Month(19 June-18 July) will be declared on the day. The official organ of the Manipur Library Association(MALA), LIBRARYGEE EEHOU: MALA INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF LIBRARY MOVEMENT, will also be released after a gap of more than 10 years in the form of its draft issue for Vol13  Issue 1, June 2021 by the Chief Guest, Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Honb'le Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University.
