Important Facilities in the University: The university has Earthquake Monitoring Facility, Monitoring of landslides in NE India; Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope, X-Ray Diffractometer, Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas-Liquid Chromatograph-Mass Spectrophotometer, Facility for Molecular Characterization of biological materials; Manipur University Ethnic Museum, Manipur University Museum of Fishes housing more than 3000 fish from the Eastern Himalaya; and Biotech Hub. The university auditorium has a capacity of 1500, 750 in the centenary hall and 40 Smart class

Central Library: The Manipur University Library opens from 09:00 am to 08:00 pm on all working days however, on Sunday, it opens from 10:00 am to 03:30 pm. The library has a collection of 1,90,463 print books, 1700+ awarded PhD Theses, 23 (14 Local+9 National) Newspapers, 20+ Maps, subscription of 220 (207 National + 13 International) print current periodicals; 4 databases (ISID, JCCC, MathSciNet & Web of Science), 6161+ core and peer reviewed e-journals from e-shodhsindhu consortium & 995 e-journals from DeLCON are accessible at the University campus only, 2800+ e-books (2700+ Digitized and 123 Subscribed) & 1400+ e-Theses as on 24th December 2019. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) terminals are available at the ground floor of the library and also it is web-enabled only via intranet [http://10.117.10.253/webopac] There are two reading halls- first floor and second floor which can accommodate 200 users. All print books are kept at ground floors and first floor only and print journals are available at second floor only. The library has internet searching facilities at the top floor and reprography facilities at the ground floor. The awarded PhD theses (full-text) may be searchable at Shodhganga. Plagiarism Detection Software (PDS) – URKUND provided by the INFLIBNET Centre is accessible in the University. Assistant Librarian is the administrator of the software (URKUND) of Manipur University. Faculty members, scholars & staffs of the varsity can register and use the said software facilities. All the user communities can register themselves at National Digital Library of India [https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/] and access 10 millions of resources in 70+ different languages at free of cost.


Computer Centre: The University has a well-equipped Computer Centre which is actively engaged in the computing requirements of the University like processing of examination results, online provisional marksheet declaration, online application process for recruitment, admission, etc. Computer Centre Lab is open for students and scholars. The centre also conducts short-term courses for in-service trainees. The centre is also responsible for the maintenance of campus network and other computer system management.


University Museum: The University Museum is multifunctional. It provides facilities to scholars to study the various aspects of Pre-historic Archaeology, Palaeobotany, Paleozoology and other antiquities of the ancient past.


Educational Language & Phonetics Laboratory: The Language Laboratory, established in 1984 with financial assistance from the UGC, has 30 booths with feedback facility. This facility is used for M.A. courses in Language, Spoken Language Course and Certificate Courses in foreign languages. The recording studio of the laboratory is used for recording lectures delivered by distinguished visiting scholars. This specialized equipment is used to extensively study and understand various languages. There is also a library of films and recorded tapes.


Banking and Postal Facilities: State Bank of India and Baroda Bank have their branches with ATM and E-lobby facilities in the campus. A Post Office is also located in the campus.


Health Centre: The University Health Centre, looks after the health care of the residents of the campus, students and members of teaching and non-teaching staff of the University. The centre has a Medical Officer and supporting staff and a Dental Doctor. The centre has Ambulance vehicle for emergency purposes around the clock.


University Guest House: The University a Guest House has 30 Guest Rooms, which includes one dormitory, nine VIP rooms and other ordinary rooms. An International Guest House with 80 accommodation facilities is also available.


Hostel & Recreational Facilities: Presently there are six Men’s Hostel & eight Ladies Hostel which makes accommodation available within the campus tor 592 Boys and another 564 Girls students. Accommodation in the hostel is granted as per Hostel Rules. Students who are admitted to the hostels are required to join the hostel mess. The university has an indoor “Stadium for badminton, table tennis and weight lifting and also a gymnasium. Play fields/ courts are available for outdoor sports like basketball, football, handball, volleyball, hockey, cricket, etc.
Accommodation for Teachers and Staffs: Surrounded by breath-taking natural scenic view as many as 146 units (occupied) of faculty and staff quarters under different categories (Type 1 to Type 6) are available.


Power & Water Supply Scheme: The University Power System is Backed Up by 250 KVA Generator and another 35 KV A Generator. Besides, there are other back up of Power system at the individual Departments. A network of 3500-meter pipeline connects the University Water Supply System.


Transport Facilities: There are 6 buses of the University which ply between the city and the campus twice a day at nominal fares. In addition, there are many private transport services linking the campus with other parts of the city and its suburbs.


Special Cell for SC/ST/OBC: There is a Special Cell which looks after the welfare of the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. Regular coaching classes for SC/ST/OBC/Minorities and PWD students are conducted by the Coaching Centre for NET-JRF to facilitate the relatively disadvantaged section of the student community.


Official Language Cell: The Official Language Cell of the University has been strengthened with the appointment of one ‘Hindi Translator’ and one ‘Hindi Typist’. The cell provides crucial assistance to the University administration by way of regularly translating the Annual Report, Annual Accounts and other official documents issued by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.


IGNOU Study Centre: There is a study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in the premises of Manipur University.


National Service Scheme Cell (NSS): Manipur University is having a National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell in its premises since 1980. The Cell collaborates about 30 organizations/ agencies of international, national and regional levels in carrying out its programme. At present, the Cell is supervising 92 (+3) NSS units operating in 62 different colleges and institutions affiliated to the University, including three Self Financing Units (SFUs). Regularly, the Cell organizes various programme such as National Integration Camp, Health Camps, Awareness programme on various issues, Blood donation Camps, Motivation camps, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Mega Camps, Vivekananda festival, Training for trainees (TOT) on various social, cultural, economic, health and environmental issues in which youth volunteers are actively participating NSS CELL.


Community Development Cell: Manipur University has established a Community Development Cell w.e.f. 3rd April 2015 to adopt the surrounding villages and carry out community development programmes in collaboration with the NSS Cell of the University. The cell has identified priority areas to carry out development programmes in these villages. Such areas include: cleanliness drive; community health, hygiene & sanitations; mass tree plantation; arrangement to provide facilities for clean drinking water; Community library development; Construction of waiting shed and public urinal, Digital Literacy Programme for the youth of the villages, etc.


Internal Complaints Committee: As per UGC (prevention, prohibition & rederssal of sexual harashment of women employees and students in higher education institutions) regulations an Internal Complaints Committee has been established in the University.
Discrimination Prevention Committee: The M.U. Discrimination Prevention Committee will look into the complaints of discrimination received from SC /ST /OBC Students /Teachers /Non-Teaching Staff. Complaints can be registered online [http://www.dpcomplaints.manipuruniv.ac.in]


Anti-Ragging Cell: Manipur University is a ragging free Institute. University has instituted an “Anti-Ragging Cell”.
Placement Cell: University has a separate placement cell for the campus recruitment drive of the students.


Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Cell: The University has its own cell of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), a flagship programme/scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Develpment, Government of India. The cell adopts five villages namely i. Langthabal Mantrikhong, ii. Langthabal Chingthal Chingkha, iii. Naorem Leikai, iv. Oinam Leikai and v. Maibam Leikai and conducts programmes/activities to bring transformational change in these villages through technological intervention.


Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB): The University is also carrying out activities/ programmes under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, a flagship programme of the Government of India. The programmes/activities are being carried through Ek Bharat shrestha Bharat Club headed by a Nodal Officer/Secretary comprising of nine members (faculty members from various departments). Indira Ghandhi National Tribal Univerity (IGNTU) Amarkantak, Meidhya Pradesh is the paired University of our University to conduct activities.


Manipur University Employment Information & Guidance Bureau: The Manipur University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau (MUEIGC) has been providing placement information and career guidance facilities to the students and Manipur University for their employment in both the public and private sector organizations including Government departments.


Scholarships & Awards: The University has provisions for awarding Non-JRF UGC fellowships to deserving M.Phil/Ph.D students of the five Schools of Studies. Gold Medals are awarded to meritorious students who secure first-class first positions.
Free Studentships & Financial Assistance: A limited number of free studentships and financial assistance are also available for needy and deserving Post-Graduate students of the University.


International Ties: Manipur University has signed MoU for academic exchange with Surindra Rajabhat University, Thailand; Monywa Institute of Economics, Myanmar and Mandalay University, Myanmar.


DST-Inspire Camp: The university is conducting DST sponsored Inspire Camps for students of X+II since 2011. The objective of the camp is to inspire brilliant students for higher studies and research as their career.
