Dr. Jibon worked at the CAD Division of an engineering corporation for a year after completing his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, and pursued Master of Business Administration from BHU till 1994 and then joined a multinational firm as Manager where besides other responsibilities he handled export-import logistics at the port. Subsequently he joined MIMS, Manipur University in 1995. He has done his PhD in FDI: A Gateway to Globalization in India. He was in Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad for a year undergoing FDP in Management. His area of interest is International Business, Entrepreneurship and Communication. In the recent past he has published in two Scopus listed International Journal in the area of Entrepreneurship, and another two in the UGC Care listed journal in the area of Entrepreneurship and Logistics. He has published in many international journals and presented papers as key note speakers in International Seminars and Conferences. He likes Physical exercise, Running and Yoga, and believes in healthy mind, body and spirit.
Jibon is a friendly and happy person. He has many friends. He was appointed Warden of American Citizen in the Manipur region by the Consulate General of the United States of America, American Citizen Services Unit through signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Vice Consul on July 10, 2013. He is a Founder Member of global network, Knowledge Exchange Network which is a non-profit organisation founded in Boston, USA. Further, he is at present Coordinator of International Relations Manipur University.
Dr. Jibon is Advisor of Dynamic Manipur -- a non-profit organization -- right from the inception. Further, he is Advisor of Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industries. He is reviewer of "Gender in Management: An International Journal" of Emerald Group Publishing. He had been an advisor for a project on waste management of Plauk Daeng District, Thailand. Further, he completed a bilateral India-Thailand project under ICSSR, India and NRCT, Thailand on women entrepreneurship in 2017.
At present, during this pandemic, he is involved in purchasing and delivering oxygen cylinders, and other medical equipment to the Manipur Government pool as one of Convenors of Care for Manipur, an association comprising of donors and people, residing in various parts of India and abroad, dedicated to the service of people affected by the pandemic.
