Brief Introduction

Dr Lisam Shanjukumar is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Manipur University. He joined Manipur University 2009 as the founder head of the department. He did his post doctoral research in the Cancer Biology Department, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, and Indiana University , Indianapolis, USA. He made contribution in the field of cancer metastasis. He identified a novel metastasis suppressor gene (MSG) for prostate cancer(Science Daily , Aug. 28, 2007). He has also demonstrated for the first time that an intronless gene version of casein Kinase alpha is expressed in a chronic myelogenous leukemic cell.
