Institutional Bio-safety Committee (IBSC)

In accordance with the Notification of the Ministry of Environment and Forests vide Gazette Notification No. GSR 1037 (E) dated 05.12.1989, notified under the E.P. Act 1986, it has become mandatory that all research activities carried out at various Research Institutes including Universities involving genetic manipulation of genetic materials (DNA/RNA) in micro-organisms, plants or animals be approved by the Institutional Bio Safety Committee. All investigators at Manipur University and RIMS who have initiated research project(s), or have submitted n ew project(s) for financial support to National/International Funding Agencies should submit relevant information concerning their project(s) as per the IBSC format (proforma can be downloaded from below), along with the respective project(s) for IBSC clearance (7 copies of each). The documents are to be submitted to the Convener IBSC. |
